Do you know your beer?

The British Guild of Beer Writers is looking for published articles, books, TV footage and radio recordings which promote the great British tradition of enjoying beer.

The Beer Writer of the Year Awards this year are also inviting entries from the electronic media, such as internet pages and CD ROMS.

Entries are sought from regional and national writers, authors, the drinks and brewing trade, PR writers, TV and radio broadcasters, photographers, food and drink correspondents, and website companies.

The Beer Writer of the Year Awards are organised by the British Guild of Beer Writers and sponsored by brewers Charles Wells.

The prize for the best entry is the title of Beer Writer of the Year, an engraved Gold Tankard and £1,000. For the runner-up, the prize is a Silver Tankard and £500. “Highly Commended” entries earn Pewter Tankards. There is a £1,000 Budweiser Budvar Bursary up for grabs for the best work on beer and brewing overseas.
