He’s done dental care and breaking wind – now a regional editor has turned his attention to fidgeting in his latest children’s book.
Northern Echo editor Peter Barron has published the third in his Monstrous Morals series designed to discourage bad habits in kids.
Fidgety Bridget Wrigglesworth follows on from Fartin’ Martin Sidebottom and Black-toothed Ruth Black which were published last year.
It tells the tale of a little girl who is told she has “ants in her pants” on the grounds of her inability to stop fidgeting in class.
Says Peter: “Bridget is kidnapped in the night by a mob of giant ants which come out of her pants drawer and take her off to work as a slave for the Queen Ant in an ant hill.
“Luckily, two friendly ants with North-East accents come to her rescue. One’s called Ant and the other’s called Dick!”
Peter will be signing copies of the book in Darlington’s Waterstone’s store between 12 and 2pm on Saturday 17 May.
The book is available at Waterstone’s, WH Smith’s and on-line through Amazon as well as all kinds of other book sites, priced at £5.95.
I suppose ‘Attention Deficit Disorder Bridget’ wouldn’t have the same ring to it…
