An independent publisher is expanding with the launch of a new newspaper.

The Crowborough News is set to serve the Sussex town after its launch was announced by East Sussex News.

The company already publishes Hailsham News, Eastbourne News, and Bexhill News as part of its bid to return “truly local journalism to Sussex towns”.

Crowborough is covered by titles including National World’s Sussex World website and the independent Crowborough Magazine.

The monthly free paper will have an initial print run of 10,000.

Editor Iain Luxford, who has lived in Crowborough for more than 20 years, said the paper would be “written by local people, for local people.”

In a message to readers, he added: “We’re here to give Crowborough a strong, independent voice in print.

“We want to share your stories, your successes, and your views and build something the whole community can be proud of.”
