Denmark poaches Reach director in first major signing

Martin LittleA senior editorial leader with Reach plc is returning to National World in the company’s first major signing under its new ownership.

Martin Little, pictured, is to take up the role of chief publishing officer at the regional publisher, following its takeover by Malcolm Denmark’s Media Concierge.

It marks a return to the business for Martin who was digital content director at National World predecessor JPIMedia before joining Reach in 2021.

Currently audience director at Reach, he has played a central role over recent years in shaping the group’s digital audience strategy.

Martin has also served as online editor at Aberdeen daily the Press & Journal and head of business development at Romanes Media Group.

He began his career as a reporter on a free weekly newspaper in Stirlingshire.

Said Martin: “The pace of change in our industry is like no other. Whether it’s shifting algorithms, new technology or the relentless news agenda, the demands on our journalists never stop.

“But that’s what makes it exciting and it’s the reason I’m returning to a business I know well.
