A reporter has left his role with a weekly newspaper to join a rival title with a wider patch.

Ben Lynch has announced his departure from the Romford Recorder to join London World.

Ben, pictured joined the Newsquest-owned Recorder in January last year after completing NCTJ training with PA Media.

He also spent some time working on the Hampstead & Highgate Express during his time with Newsquest.

Ben began his new role with National World-owned London World last week.

He posted on Twitter: “A rare personal tweet to say that I’ve now officially started at London World,

“Gutted to say goodbye to the Romford Recorder and the wider Newsquest team, but looking forward to getting stuck into a pan-London role.”
