Regional publishers were among the winners at an annual awards celebrating podcasting.

Reach plc scooped two prizes at the 2023 Publisher Podcast Awards, while National World was also victorious in one category.

Reach’s online-only newsletter The Northern Agenda was named Best Local & Community Podcast, where it had faced competition from two programmes operated by its sister title Birmingham Live in the form of Commonwealth Stories and Brummie Mummies.

National World podcast Testimony: The Body on Seaham Beach had also been nominated.

There was also triumph for Reach daily the Newcastle Chronicle, whose football show The Everything is Black and White Podcast won Best Sport Podcast.

Andrew Musgrove, pictured, Reach’s social media editor for the North-East and Yorkshire, hosts the show and accepted the award at a ceremony held in London last month.

National World’s The Reset Room claimed Best Health & Wellbeing Podcast.
