A regional daily scooped a brace of prizes at an annual awards celebrating financial journalism.
Yorkshire Post head of business and features Chris Burn has been named Local/Regional Journalist of the Year at this year’s Headlinemoney Awards.
Sarah Coles, who write a column for the Leeds-based Post, was also named Expert of the Year in a ceremony held on Wednesday.
Freelance Peter Ranscombe was highly commended in the Local/Regional Journalist of the Year category for his ‘Your Money’ personal finance column in Scottish Field magazine.
Chris, pictured, told HTFP: “I’m really delighted to have won Headline Money’s Local/Regional Journalist of the Year prize.
“Being shortlisted alongside some fantastic regional journalists and particularly my great colleague Greg Wright was an honour in itself so to actually win was a lovely surprise.
“It is the third time in six years that the Yorkshire Post business team has won at these prestigious national awards – which highlights how fortunate I am to be part of such a great team.
“It was also great to see Sarah Coles of Hargreaves Lansdown and a weekly Yorkshire Post columnist win in the Expert of the Year category.”
