Journalism students in the Midlands have just a few days to enter an awards showcasing the best of their work.

The Midlands Media Student Awards is welcoming entries until 5 October, ahead of a ceremony next month.

The awards feature categories including News, Broadcasting (Audio), Features, Social & Campaigning Journalism, Broadcasting (TV), Data & Investigations, Sport, Photography, Social Media Video of the Year and Digital Journalist of the Year.

An overall Student Journalist of the Year will also be crowned at the event, which is organised by the Birmingham Press Club.

Lewis Warner, pictured, from the club, posted on X: “The Midlands Media Students’ Awards are back for 2023.

“We’ll be highlighting the achievements of the next-generation journalists, broadcasters, photographers and the rising stars of social media at a ceremony in November.”

The awards will be held at Hockley Social Club, Birmingham, on Wednesday 8 November.
