A journalist is set to compete for five separate honours at an annual journalism awards.
Mark Harcus, who works for Orkney title The Orcadian, has been shortlisted across five categories ahead of this year’s Highlands and Islands Media Awards.
Mark, pictured, is up for Business Writer of the Year, Environment and Sustainability Writer of the Year, Sport Writer of the Year and Reporter of the Year at this year’s awards.
In total The Orcadian has received seven nominations in total, while Aberdeen-based daily the Press & Journal appears the same number of times on the shortlist.
The Shetland Times, Strathspey and Badenoch Herald and West Highland Free Press will vie for the Newspaper of the Year crown.
The winners will be revealed at the annual Highlands and Islands Press Ball, which will be held at the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness, on Friday 3 February.
