A journalist has returned to a regional news website after helping its publisher to launch a new American title.

Jane Corsscadden has moved back to Belfast Live after a six-month secondment on Reach’s New York-based site the Irish Star.

Jane, pictured, was among a group of Reach journalists who moved to the US to set up the project.

Belfast Live editor Ryan Smith also moved to become editor of the Star, which is aimed at Irish-American readers.

Announcing her return to Belfast, Jane wrote on Twitter: “After an amazing six months, my secondment is over at the Irish Star and I’m back home for Belfast Live.

“Thank you to all the great people I met in New York and those who shared their stories with me.

“Looking forward to getting back to the city in the near future.”
