Independent publisher launches new business title

An independent publisher has launched a new business news title for the region it serves.

Barrnon Media has announced the launch of Business Crack, which will feature exclusive original content including interviews, profiles, analysis and expert opinion from business leaders in Cumbria.

The Keswick-based publisher already runs the Cumberland and Westmorland Herald and the Keswick Reminder, as well as digital-only title Cumbria Crack.

Business Crack’s editorial content is led by journalist Adam Lewis, pictured, who joined Barrnon Media in April after working for several years in local government corporate communications and as a production journalist for ITV News.

Adam has also been a freelance feature writer for regional and national newspaper and magazine titles.

He said: “Business Crack will be a huge asset to the business community in Cumbria and help connect businesses across all sectors with new audiences and customers.

“I love telling stories and meeting people. My aim is to cover the full spectrum of business news – from independent traders all the way to the biggest corporations that operate in the county.

“I have already interviewed some extremely passionate local business owners and I can’t wait for people to read what we have been working on. There is no other platform like this, and I am proud to be part of the team behind this fantastic new project.”

Sarah White, Barrnon Media’s advertising director, added: “This is a huge moment for the business community in Cumbria.

“Business Crack is the home of the latest news, analysis, insight, opportunities and more from the 23,000 businesses in Cumbria.

“Local experts will provide reaction to the latest national and global trends and how they impact business here in Cumbria.

“In terms of advertising and sponsorship, Business Crack will build on the 500,000 unique visitors which Cumbria Crack attracts each month, giving businesses a huge potential audience that is engaged with their content and news.”
