A chief reporter has claimed a hat-trick of prizes at an annual journalism awards.

Marion Scott, of Glasgow’s Sunday Post, claimed Reporter of the Year, Scoop of the Year and the Nicola Barry Award for women journalists at last night’s Scottish Press Awards.

The DC Thomson-owned title was also named Sunday Newspaper of the Year to complete a successful evening for the newspaper at the event, organised by the Scottish Newspaper Society.

There were three further prizes awarded to its sister daily the Dundee Courier, with Bryan Copland winning Best Coverage of a Live Event for his report of a riot that broke out in the city on Halloween last year.
