Rugby league writer leaves regional daily to take up national role

Dave CravenA sports journalist has said farewell to a regional daily as he prepares to take up a new national role.

Rugby league correspondent Dave Craven has announced his departure from the Yorkshire Post to join the Daily Mirror in the same post.

Dave, pictured, has worked for the Post for the past 12 years.

A replacement is being sought for him at the Leeds-based daily, and the job is being advertised on HTFP here.

On Thursday, Dave posted on Twitter: “After 12 great years, next week will be my last at the Yorkshire Post.

“As a proud Yorkshireman it has been a real honour to work for such a brilliant paper and experience so many amazing opportunities, but, most importantly, be part of such a fantastic team where I’ve made mates for life.

“Thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way.

“I am delighted to now get the chance to join the Daily Mirror as rugby league correspondent. Looking forward to getting cracking from 1 March.”
