An editor who founded a hyperlocal news title 12 years ago is seeking to recruit a successor amid new expansion plans for the business.

Daniel Ionescu, left, is looking to pass on the baton at The Lincolnite to a new editor / content manager.

Owned by Stonebow Media, The Lincolnite is an independent publishing brand which was founded in 2010.

Daniel is not revealing details of the firm’s expansion plans at this stage, but it will mean he is taking a step back from day-to-day editing.

He is now looking for an experienced editor to drive the development of The Lincolnite as well as other editorial projects.

He said: “We are looking forward to growing our team and better serving communities across Lincolnshire. 

“Stonebow Media is on an exciting growth journey and the new editor will play a crucial role in our team.”

Earlier this year the editorial team at The Lincolnite had a visit from Prime Minister Boris Johnson as he visited the newsroom and took part in a Q&A session with questions from readers.
