A family connection has inspired an editorial chief is set to run the London Marathon for charity.
David Bartlett, pictured, will take on the 26-mile challenge in aid of the MS Society because his brother-in-law suffers from multiple sclerosis.
David, who is Reach plc’s audience and content director for the South-East, will take part in the run on Sunday 2 October and has already raised more than £300 in sponsorship.
Those wishing to donate can do so here.
Posting on Twitter, David wrote: “I only launched my MS Society London Marathon fundraiser on Sunday after running the furthest I’ve ever run for my training – 17 miles – and I’ve been blown away by the generosity of donations so far.
“If you can contribute anything I’d be so grateful.”
In a post on his fundraising page, he added: “Multiple sclerosis impacts the lives of more than 130,000 people in the UK.
“I’m fundraising for MS Society because my brother-in-law has MS and I believe we have a long way to go as a society to improve the lives of people with hidden disabilities.
“MS Society is focused on finding treatments for everyone with MS, and until that is a reality making sure people with MS have the best possible support.”
