District reporter quits daily to cover patch for BBC

Chris MacLennan 2022A district reporter has left a regional daily to cover the same patch for the BBC.

Chris MacLennan has announced his departure from Aberdeen-based daily the Press & Journal, where he served as its North reporter.

He has now moved to BBC Scotland, where he will be based in Inverness and cover the Highlands & Islands.

Chris, pictured, has spent four years with the P&J. During his time there, he was twice named Young Journalist of the Year at the Highlands and Islands Media Awards.

Posting on Twitter, Chris said he was “delighted” to have started his new role on Monday.

Tweeting about his departure from the P&J earlier this month, he added: “Have just dropped off my equipment and collected my car from the office marking the end of my time at the P&J.

“Four great years here. On to the next chapter.”
