Three daily colleagues to vie for national financial journalism prize

Mark CasciThree regional daily colleagues have been shortlisted for a financial journalism award for the second year running.

The nominees for the Local/Regional Journalist of the Year at this year’s Headlinemoney Awards have been revealed, with three Yorkshire Post journalists making the shortlist.

Conal Gregory, Mark Casci, pictured, and Greg Wright, who write for the Leeds-based daily, all appear on the list.

They are joined by Luke Jarmyn, of in-Cumbria, and BBC Birmingham’s Jonathan Gibson.

Last year’s title was won by Robin Johnson, then of the Derby Telegraph.

The annual awards programme recognises editorial excellence across the UK’s extensive financial journalist community, as well as highlighting the best media outlets covering money, business and City matters.

More than 500 submissions were received across the various awards categories.

The awards are due to take place on Tuesday 7 September at The Brewery in London.
