Local paper reveals new name as patch and circulation expand

Luchia RobinsonA local newspaper has changed its name after expanding both its patch and circulation.

The Tottenham Community Press will become Haringey Community Press in November, when its circulation will also increase from 10,000 to 15,000.

The free paper was launched by not-for-profit publisher Social Spider Community News in November 2016 to cover Tottenham, but will now expand to cover areas of London including Crouch End, Hornsey, Muswell Hill and Wood Green.

The monthly title will be available from community venues including cafes, pubs, libraries, community centres, hair salons and places of worship, alongside some door-to-door distribution.

Haringey Community Press editor Luchia Robinson, pictured, said: “We are glad to be expanding our inclusive local journalism to the wider borough, and we encourage Haringey residents to participate in sharing their projects and news.

“We plan to build upon the success of Tottenham Community Press by engaging even more readers with news that accurately reflects and responds to what is happening across Haringey, at both community and local authority levels.”

David Floyd, managing director of Social Spider, added: “I’m proud of all that Tottenham Community Press has achieved over the past five years and excited that readers across the borough of Haringey will now have a high quality local newspaper focused on what matters to them.”
