GB News has unveiled its latest regional recruit amid the announcement of the channel’s launch date.

Amelia Harper will take up the post of East of England reporter for the channel, bringing the total of number of hires to its regional reporting team to 10.

Amelia, pictured, joins GB News from LBC’s East newsroom and previously worked as a reporter from TV channel London Live.

The announcement of her appointment comes as GB News revealed it would officially launch at 8pm on Sunday 13 June with a special progamme entitled ‘Welcome to GB News.’

Posting on Twitter, Amelia said: “The cat’s out of the bag… and I couldn’t be more thrilled!

“I am so excited to be joining GB News as their East of England reporter. Lifelong dream.

“I can’t wait to break stories across the region and to bring under-represented voices on air with me.

“You deserve to be heard.”
