BBC presenter to host lecture in memory of legendary editor

Clive MyrieA BBC News presenter is to give a lecture on British journalism and impartiality in memory of Sir Harold Evans.

Clive Myrie will present the tribute to celebrate the life and legacy and legacy of Sir Harold Evans, once voted the greatest newspaper editor of all time.

The lecture, which will be shown on 11 March on YouTube, will be introduced by Sir Harold’s widow, Tina Brown.

The event is being supported by the Society of Editors and the London Press Club.

Sir Harold, whose first editorship was at the Northern Echo, died in September at the age of 92.

The lecture will be entitled ‘Over here, over there: Lessons from the USA. Why British TV journalism needs to be fair and impartial’.

Clive, pictured, will discuss his own experiences in the USA during the 2020 Presidential election and will talk about Sir Harold’s ground-breaking journalism with the Sunday Times.

It will be chaired by Helen Boaden, the BBC’s former director of news and director of radio.
