Thousands join regional daily-backed bid to bring rugby team home

Thousands of people have backed a regional daily-supported campaign to return a rugby league club to the newspaper’s patch.

The Bradford Telegraph & Argus is aiming to help bring the Bradford Bulls back to the city, after the club were forced to leave their Odsal Stadium home due to the high financial costs of remaining there.

For the next two years, the Bulls will instead play their home matches 10 miles away in Dewsbury.

The Telegraph & Argus has lent its support to the campaign, which is being spearheaded by Bradford South MP Judith Cummins.

The ‘Bring the Bulls Back’ campaign’s launch provided a splash for the T&A last week, pictured.

A petition set up to the club, Rugby Football League and Bradford Council to their commitment to bring the team back to the city has so far received almost 3,000 signatures.

Mrs Cummins told the T&A: “The petition says loudly and clearly that Bulls fans want our team back in Bradford as soon as possible.

“The fact that we have got over one thousand signatures so quickly shows the council and the RFL how important this matter is to the people of Bradford. We want our team back.”
