Journalism students star in college’s Christmas music video

Journalists in training joined fellow students in producing a Christmas music video for an end of term project.

Students studying on the NCTJ-accredited diploma at Harlow College were involved in the video, which saw them mime along to Mariah Carey’s 1994 hit ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’.

They were aided by students studying for a creative diploma in media production and technology, which is seen by the college as a trainer course to the NCTJ programme.

The project was the idea of Tom Graham, senior tutor in vocational journalism at the college, with students from different departments appearing.

Tom himself appears at the start of the video,  above, sporting a reindeer jumper and miming the opening lines of the song.

Lewis Heritage, assistant academy manager at Harlow College, said response to the video has been positive.

“We are delighted to have raised everyone’s spirits at this busy time of year. We have already received requests for next year,” he said.

“There has even been talk about making this an annual event. The team are already talking about ideas. I won’t give anything away now, but they are keen to go bigger and better next year.”
