Daily editor hops on ‘PudseyMobile’ for Children in Need challenge

A regional daily editor teamed up with two radio presenters on his patch to help raise cash for Children in Need.

Steve Thompson, who edits the Lancashire Telegraph, took part in the ‘Pedal for Pudsey’ drive organised by BBC Radio Lancashire’s Graham Liver and John Gillmore.

The pair are attempting to pedal more than 100 miles in a week on a specially-adapted ‘PudseyMobile’ bike, and Steve helped them as they travelled through East Lancashire.

They aim to finish the journey today at Blackpool Tower.

Steve, pictured on the PudseyMobile, is also a regular newspaper reviewer on Graham’s breakfast show.

He said: “It was great to be asked to join in the challenge even just for one morning and that was hard enough. Graham and Gilly are doing a fantastic job.

“It’s such a good cause and I urge everyone to give whatever they can. It’s been great that we’ve been able to work more closely with our local radio station this year.

“BBC Lancashire are only just round the corner from us in Blackburn town centre so it would be mad for us not to work together.

“I’ve been doing the paper reviews for the last few months and that is good for the station and great for the profile of the paper.”

People can doante £5 to Children in Need by texting PEDAL to 70405.
