Newspaper publisher launches new craft mag for girls

A new crafts magazine for young girls has been launched by regional newspaper publisher DC Thomson.

Ruby Loves is aimed at girls aged eight to 12 and the first issue has now hit the shelves, packaged in a paper bag and including a complete craft kit for six step-by-step projects.

DC Thomson, which owns Scottish papers including The Courier in Tayside, Dundee’s Evening Telegraph and the Sunday Post, will publish the magazine every four weeks.

Head of publishing Neil O’Brien said the mag had been designed following research into the buying patterns of young girls.

“The magazine is a highly interactive product which has been specifically designed for both print and digital format.

“We’re very excited to be launching Ruby Loves, continuing DC Thomson’s tradition of investing in innovative products.”
