Editor leaves weekly title just months after returning

An editor who returned to the helm of a Scottish weekly just a few months ago has now left the regional publisher.

Graham Crawford became a regional editor for Clyde Weekly Press, which is part of the Romanes Group, in September.

The role included leading the Clydebank Post, which he was previously editor of until leaving 11 years ago, and also overseeing the Barrhead News and Renfrewshire’s Gazette series.

The company has now confirmed Graham has left the role, although the reason for his departure is not known, and it is advertising for his replacement.

After leaving the Post previously, he went on to edit the Lennox Herald and was subsequently chief reporter at the Highland News, deputy editor of the Oban Times, and chief district reporter of the Banffshire Journal.

Graham, who has been described as Scotland’s most travelled journalist, was appointed to his most recent role in a move which was a partial reversal of an earlier restructure.

Martin Little, Clyde Weekly Press managing editor, said: “I would like to thank Graham for his efforts over his time with the Clydebank Post and we wish him every success in the future.”
