The NCTJ is recruiting journalism candidates for its latest round of pre-entry courses.

It is offering courses designed specifically to meet the industry’s needs.

They are being held at universities and colleges across the country and entrants will need at least five GCSE passes at A-C, including English, with some asking for two A-level passes.

As well as courses for reporters there is also a course for press photographers/photo-journalists, which is held at Sheffield College, and requires four GCSE passes and an A-level.

Pre-entry secretary Marie Baker said: “One of the best ways to compete for a start in journalism is to complete a pre-employment training course designed by the National Council for the Training of Journalists.”
