A romantic proposal in a full-page advert that set Yves Dubey back £1,200 resulted in a “yes” from his girlfriend… seven days after he placed the ad in the Derby Telegraph.

The happy couple are planning their wedding after Heidi Oldershaw made him wait for an answer because of all the attention the couple received after the ad was published.

Yves’ advert asked Heidi for her hand in marriage – and for good measure also asked for her father’s permission!

The Telegraph said: “It was love at first sight for the couple who met at an aesthetic doctors’ and plastic surgeons’ convention in Monte Carlo last summer.”

Their eyes met across a busy lecture theatre but laser therapist Heidi made Yves, a doctor, wait until the last night of the four-day convention to wine and dine her.

Despite him living in Switzerland and her in Derbyshire, the pair meet up most weekends and Yves is planning to move to Britain.
