Echo colleagues pay tribute to "invaluable" technician

The former MD of the Lincolnshire Echo has paid tribute to the company’s former maintenance manager Bryan Mustoe, who has died at the age of 69.

Ted Skaith said Bryan was a valued member of staff who began work as a maintenance engineer and progressed to become manager in charge of the building and all its machinery.

Mr Skaith said: “It was a daunting task but Mr Mustoe knew the whole layout and intricacies of the press and machinery like the back of his hand.

“Bryan was a backroom boy, an essential part of the company.

“His knowledge of the building and machinery was invaluable and, above all, Bryan was always cool and calm no matter how much pressure we were under.”

The funeral was held at Lincoln Crematorium and was attended by former colleagues and representatives from the Lincolnshire Echo.
