Award for good circulation

A top industry award scheme has named the Huddersfield Daily Examiner number one for the quality of service to its newsagents.

The Examiner beat competition from both national and regional newspapers in the awards, which are run by the Association of Circulation Executives.

The Daily Mail came second in the awards and the Isle of Man Examiner was placed third.

Marketing director for the Examiner, Robert Drummond, said: “We recognise the importance of the newsagent in getting the Examiner to its readers and we invest a lot of time in developing that relationship.”

Managing director of the Examiner News and Information Services Ltd John Griffith said: “This award is a tremendous tribute to all of our staff involved in the production, distribution and sale of our newspapers.

“They have effectively been voted the best in Britain at the job they do and we are very proud of them and the award they have secured.”

The London Evening Standard was awarded the Gold Award for Circulation Excellence and Endevour for the fourth time in a row at the same awards ceremony, compered by comedian Jack Dee.
