History of the site

HoldtheFrontPage was launched in 2000 by Northcliffe Electronic Publishing, now Northcliffe Media Limited. The Newsquest publishing group acquired a 50pc stake at the start of 2001. Trinity Mirror came on board in 2002 and Johnston Press joined the partnership in 2004. The site is now equally owned by these four powerful regional newspaper publishers.

The site is editorially independent and all-inclusive, writing about the smallest free weeklies and the biggest regional dailies.

Over the years we have built up a loyal, niche audience who regularly voice their appreciation of the service we offer.

The site has won a clutch of media awards including Best Niche Internet Site - Commercial in the Newspaper Society Digital Media Awards 2004.

The site is run and managed from our Derby HQ by publisher Paul Linford together with internet journalist Tamlyn Jones and online sales executive Erica Hardie.
