A regional publisher’s London lifestyle magazine has published two alternative front covers as the city prepares to choose its new mayor.

Archant title The Resident has released the alternative covers on its May edition, prior to the 5 May vote.

One features Conservative MP Zac Goldsmith and the other features Labour MP Sadiq Khan, their parties’ respective candidates for the position.

Both issues, pictured below, contain in-depth interviews with both candidates, with a print run split 50/50 for each.

Editor-in-Chief, Vicky Mayer said: “We’re really excited about running two special Mayoral covers for the May issue of The Resident.

“Our readers are very politically savvy and we wanted to offer them views from the two front runners in the campaign.”

Last month seven candidates in the forthcoming election, including Mr Goldsmith and Mr Khan, took part in an online-only hustings hosted by 11 Archant London sister newspapers.
