A regional publisher’s website team is to compete against national media organisations including the BBC and the Huffington Post for a top award.
Archant London’s website London24.com has been shortlisted for the Media Editorial Team of the Year award at the British Media Awards, which aim to celebrate companies that have taken an innovative approach to publishing.
The team behind the website will go head-to-head with six others in the category, including Huffington Post UK, the BBC’s news programmes impact team and Men’s Fitness magazine.
Also shortlisted in the awards in the Launch of the Year category is Newsquest Specialist Media for its quarterly Reward guide about workplace benefits, which is aimed at those working in human resources.
The awards are run by TheMediaBriefing.com and the winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on 2 May.
Laura Adams, Archant London’s digital editorial director, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for these national awards, especially since we will be up against such media luminaries as the Huffington Post and the BBC.
“It is an exciting time for London24.com and we have significant editorial development plans in place so it is fitting that the team which works tirelessly behind the scenes has been recognised.
“It is thoroughly deserved and a testament to their hard work.”
