Editor’s blog: New look for HTFP jobs pages

HoldtheFrontPage aims to be the home of UK journalism news and jobs and our jobs pages have a new look from this week.

A series of changes have been introduced with the aim of setting out the information on the jobs pages in a clearer way and giving users additional options when viewing the pages.

The job title, name of publication and location are now more prominent at the top of each page, as is the ‘Apply Now’ tab through which jobseekers can apply for jobs online via the site.

And alongside each ad, users will now be able to view lists of similar jobs – jobs in the same categories and regions as the one they are viewing.

In addition, share functionality has been introduced onto the jobs pages as well as the news pages, enabling users to post jobs to their Twitter feeds and Facebook pages.

We have also introduced a new feature in our daily email bulletin highlighting the jobs which are approaching their closing date, to help ensure jobseekers don’t miss out on their last chance to apply.

We hope both advertisers and jobseekers alike will find these changes to their liking.   Feel free to add any feedback below.

Perhaps you could insist on publishers providing salary details in their ads. Might save everyone a lot of time in applying for jobs which pay less than working as a shelf stacker in a supermarket.
