Photographer completes Paris to Cardiff cycle ride

A newspaper photographer has raised more than £1,200 for charity after completing a challenge to cycle from Paris to Cardiff.

Amy Husband, from the South Wales Evening Post, took on the 354km challenge over four days last month to raise money for Shelter Cymru.

She was sponsored by companies across Swansea to carry out the challenge and is still collecting donations in the hope of reaching her fundraising target of £1,500.

All those who sponsored above a certain amount had their logos printed on the jersey which she wore during training and on the ride.

Amy said: “It was an amazing experience to ride as a part of a team through such beautiful countryside for the good cause that is Shelter Cymru.

“We felt so much adrenaline to get home on day four and cross the finishing line, I was shocked to see 20mph on my speedo going uphill!

“It was a fantastic challenge and I’m already looking for my next one on the bike.”

Shelter Cymru aims to ensure that everyone in Wales has a decent home and helped 15,000 people last year.
