Photography campaign to counter stop and search

A campaign to counter the rising tide of stop-and-search actions against photographers working in public places has been launched.

The British Journal of Photography is running ‘Not A Crime’ in reaction to a glut of recent stories about both amateur and press photographers being questioned by police under the new Counter Terrorism Act 2008.

The magazine is inviting photographers to upload images of themselves with a placard declaring ‘Not a crime’ or ‘I am not a terrorist’ to its group on photo sharing website Flickr.
