Former Leicester Mercury workers have got together again for their annual reunion.

The event took place at Filbert Street where almost 100 pensioners from all departments enjoyed a Christmas lunch and drinks in Leicester City FC’s Carling stand.

Among the guests was the oldest member – 96-year-old Jack Offord, formerly of the composing room, and two of the newest members, former picture editor Richard Elliott and Nan Lloyd, formerly secretary to the managing director.

Organiser Ceri Lloyd said: “They all enjoyed catching up to talk about the old days and generally had a really good time.”
