Western Mail scoops Daily Newspaper title – again!

The Western Mail has scooped the Daily Newspaper of the Year title at the Welsh BT Media Awards for the fourth time in the competition’s history.

It previously scooped the honour in 1992, 1999 and 2000.

There was also a third award in as many years for Martin Shipton, chief reporter at Wales on Sunday, in the daily news reporter category.

The Weekly Newspaper of the Year award went to the Caernarfon and Denbigh Herald, while the weekly journalist title went to one of its journalists – Barry Ellams.

There were also awards for the South Wales Argus, Golwg and the South Wales Echo.
