A vacancy has arisen for a trainee reporter, based at our Bolton office.
The successful applicant for this role needs to be an enthusiastic self-starter who can find stories, make contacts and fit in with our hard-working team.
They will also have excellent news sense and the desire to see their name on the front page every week, while a good writing style and attention to detail is a must.
They would be required to write and upload breaking news to the web and social media, and have a flexible attitude to working hours in order to meet the demands of a busy news schedule.
Applicants should be qualified to NCTJ preliminary standard with shorthand at 100 words a minute. Knowledge of the Bolton and Blackburn areas would be an advantage.
Candidates should also hold a full, clean driving licence.
