The vision of Leeds Business School (LBS) is to be an excellent, accessible, innovative and engaged Business School which contributes substantially to the regional economy.
The successful launch of new courses, including those of applied practice and professional courses, has given us a significant opportunity to increase and enrich our team of lecturing staff in the Business School.
Successful candidates would join a lively, diverse international cadre of academics drawn from a variety of professional backgrounds.
LBS has a long history of applied learning and engagement with business and industry, and we are seeking an academic with practitioner experience as a TV and broadcast specialist who is capable of delivering and managing multiple modules across the BA (Hons) in Journalism and the newly accredited BA (Hons) in Sports Journalism. Specialist BJTC experience will be an advantage.
You will have significant and recent experience in the industry and will demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality teaching in TV journalism modules. You will have excellent story-telling and editorial skills across a range of media, especially TV. You will also have experience in designing and delivering TV News Days. We are also looking for strong digital/online skills and/or broadcast journalism skills. Up-to-date knowledge of cross-platform journalism would be an advantage.
As a member of our School you would be expected to undertake a number of activities including research, teaching across a range of levels and contexts from first year undergraduate to Masters students, supervision of projects and/or dissertations and, potentially, also bespoke in-company delivery.
Working here means you’ll also have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, flexible working, reduced study fees, subsidised fitness facilities and a lot more.
We welcome applications from all individuals and particularly from black and minority ethnic candidates as members of these groups are currently under-represented at this level of post. All appointments will be based on merit.
