As a key member of our team, you’ll be working with families at the centre of the biggest stories of the day, as well as sourcing and writing a range of real-life features for the women’s magazine market. This hugely rewarding position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills and clear thinking in challenging situations.
You will also be an experienced features writer who is able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of social media and an understanding of its associated marketing potential.

As a Senior Features Writer with Medavia, your role will involve generating stories from scratch and sourcing your own clients. After establishing a rapport with your client and conducting an interview, you can expect to write their human interest story for a range of women’s magazines and national newspapers.
You will develop a long-term relationship with your client, advising and guiding on media strategy as well as liaising directly with the national media and negotiating terms for coverage.
Candidates will likely be a features writer with an established press agency or daily regional paper, looking to make a career move in a dynamic and competitive industry. Alternatively, perhaps you are working on Fleet Street and are keen to leave the rat race and put down roots in a vibrant, bustling city and build a career with Medavia.
Either way, you will demonstrate a proven ability to chase and land big stories, while producing high quality news and features copy to a tight timescale.
In return, you will operate at the centre of the biggest story of the day and see your work published in weekly magazines, national newspapers and on television. You will meet remarkable people and develop top level contacts in the industry.
Salary will be agreed on experience (around £20k - £30k with lots of scope), as well as a company pension and a generous holiday allowance of up to 25 days, plus bank holidays. Staff will work from our city centre offices and are not expected to work early/late shifts or weekends.
