Job Description

A rare vacancy has arisen for a senior reporter to lead the political coverage for our suite of newspapers across the north of Scotland.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced journalist who wants to put themselves at the heart of the political debate in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.

Politics impacts everyone’s lives in so many ways and we want to be on top of it all.

Far from being deskbound, this is a good old-fashioned reporting role that brings with it a very high profile.

Based in the Highland capital of Inverness this is a key role in our organisation and involves writing content for titles as diverse as the award-winning Inverness Courier and Highland News, the Caithness Courier, Strathspey and Badenoch Herald, the Ross-Shire Journal and the John O’Groat Journal.

In return we offer a highly competitive salary, six weeks holiday and the opportunity to work for a company that continues to invest in journalism. You would also live in one of the most stunning, and newsiest, parts of the UK.
