The Police Federation of England & Wales (PFEW) is the UK’s largest staff association and represents the interests of all police constables, sergeants, inspectors and chief inspectors.

The Police Federation of England and Wales headquarters are based in Leatherhead, Surrey a couple of minutes from Leatherhead railway station, and only 45 minutes from London Waterloo by direct train. Federation House includes conference facilities for meetings and residential training courses.

We require a Media Manager whose primary function will be

  • To promote a positive image of the work of the Police Federation of England and Wales to a range of internal and external audiences
  • To oversee all immediate requirements of the Media activity on behalf of the Head of Communications, ensuring that all media activity is aligned to corporate messaging with a consistent slant and tone
  • To develop, implement and maintain an effective media strategy, with clear plans and practical activities that position the Police Federation of England and Wales as a credible, professional and consistent voice

The post reports to the Head of Communications and requires a person who has a journalistic qualification or relevant communications qualification as well as at least three years of working within a busy and corporate fast moving news-focused press office/corporate communications team.
