Hours: 37 per week

Salary range : £38,064 - £41,517 per annum

Based at : Force Headquarters

We’re looking for a talented and creative Senior Media and External Relations Officer to join our busy and dynamic team here at Nottinghamshire Police.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for positive communications; will be innovative, well-organised and self-motivated with a keen eye for detail. You will be able to demonstrate delivering impact and tangible change through innovative communications and campaigns.

Nottinghamshire Police is a forward-thinking, ambitious police force with a focus on delivering a communications strategy that puts people, storytelling and content at the heart of everything we do. Ultimately, your work will help protect the public and help to save lives.

As a key part of the team, you will be able to manage complex situations, from dealing with media crises through to delivering hard-hitting campaigns aimed at changing behaviours. We are looking for someone with excellent verbal and written skills and a background in media or campaigning communications, both externally and internally. An understanding of social media, web development and analysis of insight/evaluation and communications channel development are also desirable skills. An understanding of forward planning and communications campaigns and media management would also be advantageous.

You will be an inspirational manager who leads by example to help to develop a first-class communications service, providing vital information and reassurance for the people of Nottinghamshire.

The scope of the work will include leading a motivated team of communications officers, writing press releases and statements, producing and managing campaigns, managing communications channels and using photography, videography and design and print work to enhance our messaging.

We reach out to local communities, enabling the force to engage with the people it serves, protecting them from crime through awareness raising campaigns while offering reassurance and confidence in the work that we do.

Please note this job will be based at force headquarters - Sherwood Lodge, but there will be an expectation the person appointed will be required to work at differing locations on a regular basis.
