Job Description

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic reporter to join our ever-growing women's sport's news feed Her Sport, providing exclusive content for regional and national media outlets up and down the UK.

You will need a passion for women's sport and for telling the stories associated with women's sport - from the elite all the way down to grassroots level.

The role will include covering live events, sourcing, and gathering news, writing features and interviews, and providing opinion/analysis pieces, as well as helping build and amplify the Her Sport brand across digital and social media.

You will be working as part of our award-winning national press agency Sportsbeat and our brand is all about telling stories, so you will need to be brimming with ideas and have the ability to source your own news items - tales that deserve attention and will interest readers.

The job will also require an understanding of how to build audience engagement surrounding women's sport, and an appreciation of social and online publishing.

A broad knowledge of and comfort writing about an array of women's sports is essential - from football, rugby and cricket to netball, athletics and golf.

Candidates will need to have a full NCTJ diploma in journalism, including 100-words per-minute shorthand and have a flexible approach to working hours and weekends.
