Trainee & junior reporters
Role: Journalist – 2 roles West Country – Full or Part Time
If you are a highly motivated multimedia journalist looking for a new challenge, then Tindle Newspapers has a fantastic opportunity for you.
We have 2 roles across our West Country business, based out of our Liskeard/Launceston and Wellington offices.
Our newspapers are at the very heart of the communities they serve, and we are looking for two NCTJ-trained journalists to join our passionate community-based team. You will be motivated, enthusiastic and a real “people person”, with a nose for news.
Much of your time being spent in the community itself, meeting people and discovering the issues that affect our readers. When not out and about there will be some time in the office, and also home-based working as appropriate.
As a multimedia journalist you will embrace all forms of print and digital, including social media, and must be as comfortable writing a long-form print article as you are wording a snappy breaking news article for the web.
You will need to be flexible, have a current driving licence, and come equipped with a can-do attitude, genuine curiosity and an interest in the communities we serve.
In return you will get to work in a business which still values local news and invests in journalism, as it takes the next steps on an exciting digital journey. On top of base salary (£18,000 - £20,000 Full time based on experience), you will also get 25 days holiday, enhanced sick pay, and access to a NEST Pension.
We would consider part time applicant of 25 hours a week plus, or full time.
Please email you CV to: firstname.lastname@example.org - if you have a preference for which location please let us know!
