Mercury Press and Media are looking for a features writer to join the vibrant and growing team in our Liverpool office.
Whether you’re a go-getting new starter or a more experienced reporter, your applications are welcome.
At Mercury Press, our features writers fill the pages of all the national newspapers as well as the bestselling women’s magazines, covering everything from touching tribute pieces to funny animal stories.
You’ll need to be a real ‘people person’ able to get even the most reluctant interviewee to open up, offer a sympathetic ear for more sensitive chats – and have a sense of humour for the quirkier stories.
Our ideal candidate will have a great eye for a strong story, the drive to beat the competition to it and the creative flair to turn it into a feature the nation and beyond are dying to read.
You will need to live and breathe the Mail Online, Sun and other tabloids along with magazines like Take A Break and Chat.
As well as sourcing, pitching and writing real-life stories, our features writers also have the opportunity to work alongside hit TV shows like This Morning and Good Morning Britain.
And we have a first-class worldwide syndication department, which means your features will end up in publications all over the world – from Germany to the USA, Australia, and beyond.
Dozens of our staff have gone on to be headhunted by national newspapers and magazines – there’s no better place to make a name for yourself in journalism.
If you’re switched on, ambitious and ready to hit the ground running then this is the perfect opportunity to join a respected press agency in a fantastic patch.
As part of Mercury Press we’ll offer you a competitive salary and unrivalled career prospects.
To apply you will need to have an NCTJ qualification or similar, 80wpm shorthand and above, a clean driving licence and your own car.
If you want to be part of our friendly team, send your CV, covering letter and salary expectations to email@example.com
Please mention HoldtheFrontPage when applying for this role. This advert will expire on Friday 12th January 2018.
