MDWFeatures celebrates incredible real people from the UK and across the planet. The agency is recruiting a Features Editor with an indefatigable passion for human interest stories and a proven track record of making an impact in national newspapers, womens magazines and television.
Working with our Editor-in-Chief to supervise our experienced reporters, you will bring your passion and vision to the team and hit the ground running by sourcing incredible features content. You will already have a network of client contacts and contributors to draw on and be brimming with new ideas to turn into fresh, irresistible content.
You will have the initiative and creative scope to manage your portfolio, pushing the boundaries of what works for our customers. In exchange, you will benefit from a generous company bonus scheme, which will incentivise you to garner the very best results from the content you produce.
With no one day being the same as the next, you will be empowered to make a real difference to the role, and the agency.
Currently, you will be either carrying out an editorial role, or be a talented reporter with at least two years of experience at a news/photo agency, magazine or newspaper.
A high standard of writing, great communication skills, and a good sense of humour is essential. In addition, people management, commitment, self-belief and speed of thought are all desirable qualities for this role.
A proven track record of published stories in newspapers / magazines is essential.
Features Reporter Job Description
By joining our skilled team of features reporters, you will find your incredible stories published in the UK national newspapers, online news outlets, and womens magazines. Your most impactful case studies will find themselves featured on UK television shows such as This Morning, Lorraine and Good Morning Britain, as well-as world famous US talk shows.
To achieve this, you must have a passion for human interest, and the drive to make your ideas a reality by finding outstanding case studies and forming a real connection with the people behind the story. Depending on productivity, you will have access to our generous company bonus scheme.
You must be a people person, full to the brim with ideas, and have a fluency for social media. Your writing must be fast, accurate and to the point, with a flare for identifying a jaw-dropping top line. You must be positive and an exceptionally hard worker. A knowledge of visual storytelling and how to select the right images and video content is also desirable.
You will be a reporter with 12-months experience at a newspaper, magazine or agency, or a top-graduate with the portfolio to make us sit up and take notice.
