Job Description
Editor – East Anglian Daily Times & Ipswich Star
An exciting vacancy has arisen for an Editor to take the helm of the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star.
We’re looking for a dynamic individual to take charge of these historic Suffolk titles and their websites. They are powerful and respected brands, which have served the local community for more than 100 years.
Our preferred candidate will be someone with strong experience of working in the regional press and have an established background in leading editorial teams.
They will have a firm grasp of multimedia journalism, spearheading digital excellence alongside newspaper sales.
They will show how they have accelerated a cultural shift in their newsroom, transitioning from a print-focused operation to one where digital audience development is at the core of the news agenda and team, whilst in turn finely balancing this to produce quality printed newspapers that excel in sales performance.
We need a leader who is capable of managing change, thinking strategically, and developing journalistic talent to ensure we are producing highly-optimised, engaging content.
In addition, the individual will work alongside the commercial and newspaper senior team seamlessly.
This really is a rare opportunity for a brilliant newsroom leader - the EADT has only had nine editors in its 148-year history.
We can offer a competitive salary alongside other benefits associated with a role of this level of seniority.
