|Employment Type:||Full time|
We are seeking an energetic, tireless and committed editor to further build upon the success of our independent, family-owned, weekly broadsheet newspaper, associated publications and its website.
The Stratford-upon-Avon Herald has proudly been at the heart of its local community since 1860. You must be willing to immerse yourself into the rich and cultural heritage of our market town and into the lives of the diverse local communities that we serve. Providing informative, authoritative, thought-provoking and campaigning editorial content is the most essential pre-requisite of this role.
We are seeking to appoint an editor with effective leadership and personal skills who will be the ‘face’ of the newspaper, establishing and maintaining a high profile in the local communities whilst at the same time forging strong links with key players.
You must be a senior, fully-trained journalist with sound experience, an impeccable news sense and a proven track record of responsibility to oversee all aspects of editorial production. A good team player is an important attribute, complemented by excellent people-management skills and sound commercial awareness.
This is an extremely rare opportunity for a talented individual to become editor of a highly respected weekly newspaper which is rich in tradition but ever-mindful of the wide array of challenges that modern-day life presents.
The remuneration package includes 25 days’ holiday entitlement in addition to bank holidays and a company pension scheme.
Applications should be sent to Richard Boyden, Managing Director, Herald Publishing, York House, 17 Rother Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire CV37 6NB.
Or alternatively by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
Closing date for applications: Friday 28th September 2018.
Please mention HoldtheFrontPage when applying for this role. This advert will expire on Monday 24th September 2018.
