A vacancy has arisen for an Editor in a beautiful, rural part of south west Scotland.
Established in 1843, Stranraer & Wigtownshire Free Press is looking for an enthusiastic Editor to lead its news team for both its weekly newspaper, Stranraer & Wigtownshire Free Press and bi-monthly glossy magazine, Our Wigtownshire.
The successful candidate will manage the production of the weekly newspaper title and its bi-monthly glossy magazine Our Wigtownshire, while having a role in all aspects of both titles.
This will also include writing news and feature copy for both publications and a principal role in page production.
The role may also suit a Senior Reporter looking to make their next move, or an existing Editor, as the candidate must have experience of leading a newsroom to at least senior level. NCTJ preferred but not essential.
A full driving licence is essential, as is page make-up experience in InDesign. The post offers a competitive Editor’s salary.
